It is especially fun being out East as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Mainly because I find all the different vowel patterns to be very cool. I know, that's very nerdy, but it's true.
It's also fun because there is a different lexicon out here for certain things. For instance,
Michigan --> Connecticut
Shopping Cart --> Carriage
Garage Sale --> Tag Sale
Tennis Shoes --> Sneakers
Pop --> Soda (yes, I know that one is obvious)
It's a quarter TO ten --> It's a quarter OF ten
I will post others as I hear them, but aren't they just delightful? I smile every time someone asks me, "Would you like a carriage for that"?
